Abstract

The phenomenon of “color revolutions” in the former Soviet states, in particular the countries of Central Asia, does not lose its relevance due to the presence of many destabilizing factors and causes. For the scientific and expert community, such problematic issues as: models of modernization transformations, democratization and liberalization of the countries of the region, and the implementation of political and economic reforms in them are still of greatest interest. Systems, procedures, mechanisms, paths and methods of development within these issues are fundamental markers for identifying the causes of anti-government sentiments, which are familiar not only to the Central Asian region, but also to the countries of the Middle East. In this article, the authors attempt to analyze the probabilistic causes and factors of the “color revolutions”, and using the “analogy” method to extrapolate them to the realities of Kazakhstan and Syria.

The article also examines the socio-political conditions and external influences that contribute to such movements, comparing the reasons, progress and results in both countries. The purpose of the study is to identify commonalities and divergences in revolutionary processes, shedding light on how geopolitical strategies, economic conditions and cultural factors intersect to stimulate mass mobilization and regime change. By analyzing the Kazakh-Syrian outlook, the article contributes to a deeper understanding of the broader phenomenon of color revolutions, offering insight into their potential future implications for global stability and governance.
