Abstract

In the era of globalization, for many ethnic groups there is a real threat to lose their uniqueness associated with the peculiarities of national consciousness and culture, way of life and their history. In these conditions, the formation of patriotism becomes of a special importance, acquiring the status of a national security problem. The relevance of the issue investigated in the article is beyond doubt, and the presented material seems very acute and timely. Being teachers with extensive experience in Higher education, the authors rely on their experience in teaching social and humanitarian disciplines along with active informal communication with students of Narxoz University.
The novelty of the presented scientific article lies in the fact that the problem of the formation of patriotism in the Kazakh student environment has never been considered in the context of the possibilities of the Internet-environment as an agent of patriotic education. Through a sociological survey of 2-3 year students of Narxoz University, the authors made a decision that social networks can be used as a tool for discussion of serious and relevant topics. They provide suggestions and specific recommendations for the formation of patriotic guidelines and beliefs of Kazakhstan youth through modern Internet technologies. The article will be useful for those who deal with the problems of patriotic education in the system of secondary and higher education, who want to improve this work using the possibilities of the Internet space.
