The development of society presents humanity with the necessity of cultivating the principles of mutual tolerance, as a requirement of the modern historical era. Tolerance acts as a value of a democratic society, a certain morality as an ethical basis for tolerance. This morality consists of values, meanings, morals that do not deny the freedom of choice of actions and responsibility for them. Tolerance can be spoken of only where it is practiced voluntarily, and not under duress, because otherwise it would be simply “suffering” or “experiencing” certain things that a person rejects, but against which he is powerless. Just like any social phenomenon, tolerance has its minuses, paradoxes and boundaries. Tolerance alone cannot solve all the problems facing humanity today, but relying on this principle, the solution to pressing, topical problems of our time seems more progressive.
