Abstract

South Korea, as one of the world’s leading economies, attracts a significant number of migrants, which requires careful analysis and understanding of this phenomenon. Migration is known to involve the movement of people from one country to another for temporary or permanent residence. In recent decades, South Korea has transformed from a predominantly emigrant country into an immigrant one, where the influx of foreign workers, marriage migrants, and those seeking education had brought new dynamics to the country’s demographic landscape. The relevance of studying migration policy in the country on the one hand, and examining its diaspora policy on the other, is driven by the need to understand the current trends, challenges, and development prospects for South Korea in the near future. This article explores some trends in migration processes, such as labor, social, and educational aspects, along with South Korea’s diaspora policy.
