This article examines digital competence as a factor in the political socialization of youth. The study analyzes the increasing impact of digital technologies on the transformation of the political socialization process among young people. Digital technologies are becoming an important tool in shaping political views and attitudes, while simultaneously influencing the development of digital competence and patterns of political engagement.
In recent years, the process of political socialization has undergone significant changes. The emergence of new technologies has transformed forms of political participation and interaction among young people. As a result, the early stages of political socialization are gradually shifting from the family environment to the online and social media environment. These changes have also affected the formation of civic culture, which is closely connected to political socialization. The growing integration of youth political worldview into the online environment directly influences the future development of Kazakh society.
The increasing demand for digitally competent citizens reflects the need to minimize potential risks associated with digital environments and to channel digital engagement in constructive directions. To test this hypothesis, the study examines the influence of virtual space on the political socialization of youth, drawing on relevant statistical data. Alongside the benefits of digital technologies, the article also discusses risks such as algorithmic bias, potential negative effects on political socialization, and the impact of artificial intelligence on electoral behavior.
This perspective broadens the understanding of the role of digital competence in contemporary political socialization and highlights its growing significance in both present and future societal development.
