Abstract

The information society, which is a new type of civilization, needs highly qualified specialists, from whom a high intellectual level is required. At the current stage of development of society, where the situation has changed due to the coronavirus, the importance of moral and spiritual development has increased many times. Therefore, the question arises whether a complementary combination of pragmatism and general humanitarian education is possible. We will try to consider the answer to this question on the basis of innovative universities.
An innovative university is a university that trains specialists who meet modern market demands, meets global changes, is adapted to the conditions of modern high-tech industries, is able to develop rapidly, change, meet the needs of the domestic market, and also improves general humanitarian education.
The main hypothesis is based on the fact that the mechanisms of education in universities, which replace traditional education, should be based on innovation and creativity. Kazakhstan’s innovative research universities should pursue the goal of training highly qualified specialists guided by humanistic values to form a new type of scientific education.
