Abstract

Islamism is one of the most complex social phenomena of our time; it is a multifaceted, volatile and heterogeneous movement in which there is a very intense ideological and political struggle. The distinctive feature of the idea of post-Islamism is their combination with the principles of democracy in a globalizing world. Unlike Islamism, post-Islamism emphasizes human rights over human responsibilities. However, these progressive ideas could not be a complete substitute for Islamism, as its decline in popularity was temporary in the late 19th century. The success of a number of Islamist parties in the parliamentary elections of the early twentieth century testifies to this. The article defines Islamism and post-Islamism and analyzes its main currents, characteristics and manifestations. The aim of the work is to analyze and examine the specific concepts identified in Islamism and post-Islamist discourse, to analyze the nature of the transition from the Islamist point of view to the post-Islamist one. The main methodology of the article is a content analysis of printed publications and electronic articles. The study was also analyzed on the basis of the latest data on Islamic dogma. The deductive method was used to determine the inductive method explaining the research work, the main content of Islamism and post-Islamism. In the course of the study, the author also refers to the works of experts in Islamic thought.
