Abstract

The 21st century began to be called the information society. In the 1950s-1970s, the rapid development of technology and computers brought the development of society to a new level. The name information society is known in science by different names: post-industrial society, «enlightened society», «risk society», «post-capitalist society» and others. If the value dimension of the industrial society is material, the main value of the information society is information. This type of «technized» and «informed» society is characterized by the manifestation of the «digitalization» process.
Our article provided information about information society theories, the concept and process of digitization, and digitization-related projects of member states of the Organization of Turkic States. In addition, the information society agreement of five member states of the Organization of Turkic States (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey) described programs, doctrines, concepts and projects related to the use of information space services and digitization in various spheres of society. We also touched on the international strategic programs related to mutual integration of the mentioned countries in the information space.
