Abstract

The information society, which is a new stage of society’s development, is distinguished by the growth in the use of information technologies in many spheres of society’s life, such as economy, politics, science, education, culture, and legal activity. The information society is a form of society that emerged as a result of the globalization process. All the new changes in the information society has created the need for a new service in the practice of the legal system and, as a result, led to the formation of a new legal culture. One of the requirements of the information society is the gradual influence of the information technologies on modern society on the legal consciousness and the need for legal regulation of the activities of information technologies. In modern society, such processes as the increase in the role of information, the change in the nature of social interaction, as well as the peculiarities of the exercise of state power affect the function of legal consciousness.
The article describes the change of legal consciousness in the format of the information society, the factors affecting it and the services of legal consciousness. Additionaly, orientations aimed at the development of legal consciousness in the period of information society are considered.
