Humanistic services in the history of mankind, such as "helping", "doing good", are always appreciated by society as a moral uplift. However, today the ethical norms of a person's desire to do good are violated and become the subject of manipulation. As part of the study of modern philosophical problems, there is a need to review the ethical foundations of humanistic motivation in order to dispel the threat of its transformation into a demotivating paradox. In the article, children became the object of study as the basis of a morally vulnerable group. The transformation "from motivation to manipulation" is an unresolved philosophical dilemma of children's ethics. This issue has not been studied at all in Russian philosophy, nor has it become the subject of systematic analysis in world science. The research position of the authors of the article is to consider the possibilities of forming an ethical basis for protecting humanistic motivation in children from manipulation from the standpoint of practical philosophy. This is due to the fact that in modern public space there is an increasing tendency to reverse-use children's desire to do good, and children's natural empathy for strangers and desire to do good complicate the management of feelings of fear for adults who have not yet formed their own protective zone. In the context of Russian scientific and philosophical research, an attempt is being made for the first time to conceptualize the concepts of "humanistic motivation", "moral vulnerability", and "critical empathy" in children's ethics as an independent category. This attempt may give a practical impetus to the formation of a philosophical basis for protecting humanistic motivation from manipulation in children's ethics. The methodological classical basis of the new impulse in the article consists of Aristotle's doctrine of phronesis, Kant's deontological ethics, the moral ethics of Abai and Farabi in the eastern and Kazakh philosophical traditions, the modern methodological basis is the concept of children's philosophy (P4C) by M. Lipman, the ethics of manipulation by Sh. Cohen et al.
